Every summer, Isabel and her cousins spend their holidays at their grandmother's house in Enxabarda, a small mountain village in the Portuguese hinterland. Life there is different from the city: you can walk barefoot, leave your doors wide open, never take water or electricity for granted, and rely on a deep, mutual solidarity with your neighbors. Today, facing an increasingly urgent climate crisis and an uncertain future, Isabel looks back at her past, seeking in her grandmother’s ways potential lessons on how to protect what remains and how to survive.
