Melissa Castrillón is a freelance illustrator living in Cambridge, England. Born in 1986, She grew up in a small town outside London to an english mother & Colombian father. Her early years were spent drawing and climbing trees and now she spends most of her time day dreaming about climbing trees & drawing whilst in her pyjamas.
In 2009 Melissa finished her Degree in illustration and then completed a Masters degree in Children's book illustration in 2014, both from the Cambridge school or art. Now freelancing full-time she illustrates everything from picture books to editorial illustration and her love of Screen printing and bold colours is a constant theme through her work. She has worked with publishers from both sides of the globe such as Faber & Faber, Penguin Random House, Templar, Groundwood books, Simon & Schuster and Topipittori.
