Pia Valentinis was born in Udine, but she lives in Cagliari. After graduating at the Arts School, she attended several workshops (Atelier des Enfants at the Pompidou Centre, Stepan Zavrel, Sergio Toppi, Emanuele Luzzati) and over the years she has illustrated children's books for national and international publishers. Her work has been exhibited in collective and solo exhibitions, and she held visual art workshops for children. She won the 21st edition of the Andersen Prize as the "Best Illustrator", the most important Award in Italy dedicated to children's books.
