Sergio Ruzzier spent his childhood in Milan, playing, among other things, at “chi muore meglio” (who dies better). He’s still alive and lives in New York, where he writes and illustrates picture books. In 2011 Maurice Sendak selected him for the exclusive Sendak Fellowship. Besides A letter for Leo, his books Rimasugli and Una vita d'artista have been published in Italy, both by La Grande Illusion.
