It's shopping day for Pasqualina and her mother. As they get in the supermarket, Pasqualina wants to sit in the cart like all other children. She wants everything from the shelves, and at each unfulfilled wish she becomes softer and softer until she turns into a slimy, shapeless mass. And then a bird mistakes her for a snail, and carries her away. Will she find the way back home, this time?
