Juliana Salcedo Barrero

Juliana Salcedo Barrero è nata a Bogotà nel 1975. Ha studiato architettura nella sua città natale e nel 1999, mentre era a Glasgow per un master, capí che voleva fare l'illustratrice. Per riuscirci ha impiegato più tempo di quanto immaginasse. Nel frattempo ha lavorato come architetta, designer e grafica. Dal 2016 è la direttrice di produzione della rivista ¡La leche!, di cui illustra le copertine e la pagina dei crediti, oltre a numerosi articoli.

Liuna Virardi

Liuna Virardi was born in Bologna in 1983. She studied graphic design and visual communication at ISIA, Urbino, and illustration at Escola Massana, Barcelona. Today she works as an author and illustrator in Toulouse, France. She works in different areas of publishing, but making picture books is her favorite thing. She was shortlisted at Bologna Children's Book Fair exhibition, 2019 and 2014; at Prix Sorcières, 2018; at Nambook Festival 2017. She was awarded the White Ravens, 2016, and the Gourmand Word Cookbook, 2014.

Chenxino

Chenxino was born in China in 1993. She studied Cartooon Animation at the Academy of Fine Arts in Hubei, China, and Illustration at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna. Her first book, La luce [The light], encapsulates her great passion and her love for drawing: picture books are for her "one of the purest and most beautiful kinds of art, like a lamp lighting up the darkness". Her style contaminates traditional Chinese painting with Western abstract art. Her works contain "the naive dreams of children”.

Francesco Chiacchio

Francesco Chiacchio lives and works in Florence. His work ranges from collage to drawing. He has illustrated books, records, posters and he's also drawn short graphic stories. From 2010 to 2012 he illustrated the cultural pages of the national daily La Repubblica Firenze. In 2009 he created the graphics for a multimedia project, X (Suite for Malcolm), wich was composed by the saxophonist Francesco Bearzatti for his Tinissima Quartet and performed in Europe and in the United States.

Daniela Tieni

Daniela Tieni was born in Rome in 1982. She graduated in scenography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. She also has a Masters Degree in Art-therapy from Roma Tre University. Currently, she works as a freelance illustrator for Italian and foreign magazines and publishers. Her work was selected by Ilustrarte Biennial in 2016, 2012, 2014, 2009; by Bologna Children's Book Fair in 2019, 2017 and 2012, and by the American contest 3X3 Magazine No.13. Since 2017 she has been teaching at Idea Academy Illustration Master.

Shin Sun-Mi

Shin Sun-Mi graduated from the Ulsan University, and later from the Hongik Graduate School, majoring in oriental painting. She won a prize in the 2003 Art Concours of Korea, and has been active in and out of the country, participating in the Korea-Japan Exhibit (2007), and the International Art Fair in Korea (2008) as well as the SCOPE New York (2009). Since 2006, through several exhibitions, she has shared with the public a whole series of Ant-Fairies.

Angela Leon

Ángela León è nata in Spagna nel 1987. Dopo aver studiato Product Design a Madrid, si è trasferita in Brasile dove ha lavorato in progetti sociali e istituzioni legate al mondo dell’arte. Questa esperienza ha rafforzato il suo interesse per la città, da cui è nato il suo primo progetto editoriale, Guia Fantástico de São Paulo. Ha illustrato libri per musei come il MAXXI di Roma e i Musei Civici di Firenze. Attualmente concilia il suo lavoro editoriale internazionale con progetti per la collettività a Madrid.
